  An Integrated Solution

Flying Boat provides user organisations with a comprehensive integrated solution. The product is licensed in a modular fashion enabling user organisations to select just the sub-systems that they require. Additional sub-systems can be added to an installation at any stage with the minimum of fuss.

  System Architecture

Flying Boat has been built from the ground up as a ANSI v3 compliant SQL database system utilising many SQL database features to ensure data integrity checking is processed at the server as well as on the client software. The client software has been developed in Borland Delphi, a leading and one of the most efficient object orientated development environments available. Use of Delphi has enabled us to provide what is probably the most productive and easy to use user interfaces to be found in trust and company administration systems. At a technical level we have the following system requirements:
Server We recommend and support Borland InterBase SQL Server. This is available with support for Microsoft NT Server / Windows2000 Server, UNIX and Linux platforms. Fileserver specification will vary with user site requirements.
Workstation The Flying Boat client has been built for the Microsoft Windows environment and we presently support Microsoft Windows NT v4 / Windows2000 Professional and Windows XP Professional. Minimum hardware specification would be Intel Pentium II 300Mhz processor, 128Mb RAM, 20Mb free disk space.
We also support Citrix / Terminal Services environments. Single users versions are also available.

  User Support

We recognise that effective support is a key issue for many organisations involved in trust and company administration and we have utilised our 10 years of experience to implement what we believe is the most effective support system in the industry. At a primary level we offer clients a comprehensive support and maintenance contract that encompasses the majority of support and implementation requirements within the single support fee. This provides users with benefits such as unlimited user training, report customisation and system updates. We have a broad and experienced team of support staff covering all aspects from the technical installation to fiduciary industry practioners who understand the requirements of the business. We operate a conventional help desk, however we have made a significant investment in support systems to make this more effective and to deliver support directly to the user by electronic means as well as conventional means.

The most recent upgrade to our support service has been the introduction of our web interface that allows users to log and track their queries directly in our support system. This system is also linked through to our development control system such that if a support query results in a code change then progress through to delivery in a new program version can be monitored by the originating user.

  User Sites

We have a wide and diverse user base located throughout the Channel Islands and in locations beyond such as London, Switzerland and Mauritius. Our users include trust companies, fund managers, accountancy practices and insurance and pension companies. Many of these are independant organisations, a number are subsidiary companies of international banks, legal firms and other financial services companies.

Our smallest site is a single user, typical sites are tens of users and a number of sites are multiple location operations. Specific references are available upon request.

  On-going Development

Products such as Flying Boat can only continue to be productive for their users organisations if we continue to develop and maintain the system. We have an active development programme enhancing the product in light of user request and feedback as well as in light of new and emerging operational requirements. We have delivered new sub-systems to meet the changing needs of the market place and extended existing sub-systems to provide superior facilities.
