Fusion's move into telephone systems widens choice in Guernsey
Fusion Systems' entry into the telephone systems market over the last year is proving a popular
move with its clients. As a result it is offering Guernsey businesses greater choice and access to
technologies and levels of telephone system and computer system integration that were not previously
available.
Fusion selected the Avaya IP Office range of telephone systems to offer to its clients after careful
research and evaluation of available products. The Avaya IP Office was chosen as it offers a comprehensive
set of telephony features, a wide range of integrated software applications and proven Voice Over
Internet Protocol (VoIP) technology.
Alan Rowe, Fusion's Sales & Marketing Director, explained "VoIP has been viewed as the telephone
technology of tomorrow for some time. With the Avaya IP Office we have been delivering systems to
clients with that capability over the last year. The beauty of the IP Office is that it can be
implemented today as a conventional telephone system and optionally integrated with the existing
computer system. The VoIP features are there ready to be used as and when a client needs them."
Particular applications of VoIP technology include connecting offices together and enabling remote
or "teleworkers" to be part of the same telephone system as their office based colleagues whilst
simultaneously being able to access all of the same computer systems. As an added bonus the
technology can also reduce communications costs. Avaya's extensive range of software provides a host
of capabilities for personal productivity improvement, unified messaging and customer contact centre
applications.
The convergence of telephone and computer systems has also been delivering a further benefit as it
means that clients can now deal with just one supplier for all of their IT and telephony needs.
This has been particularly beneficial when businesses have been moving location as there is one less
organisation to deal with at what is often a hectic time. Additionally clients also feel very
comfortable dealing with IT specialists who are familiar with supporting their broader IT requirements
when they want to integrate a telephone system into their IT network at this higher level.
The Avaya IP Office range scales from 2 to 250 users and as such it accommodates the requirements
of most Guernsey businesses. Fusion has deployed the Avaya IP Office into a range of local businesses
including the financial services and retail sectors.
Avaya has a heritage in telephony stretching back over 100 years tracing its history through
Lucent Technologies and AT&T. According to research carried out by Infotech and Synergy Research
Group, Avaya has claimed worldwide leadership for VoIP line shipments for the first quarter of this
year. Guernsey businesses can now rest assured that they are being offered solutions from the best
names in the industry.
